The children's favourite.

Cindy only spent two and a half years at King but the relationships that she made have lasted to this day. Her father worked for the Canadian government, so Cindy attended many schools, mostly in Asia, before arriving at KCSS in Grade 11. She knew that she was going to be a performer from the time she was ten and KCSS provided Cindy with her first exposure to performing in front of an audience. She sang and acted at all the school assemblies, won awards in public speaking contests, played on the school badminton team and was crowned Prom Queen in her final year.

Cindy entered the theatre program at York University (where she began dating an old friend from King, Jeff Honey) and after graduating toured with theatre companies across Ontario. It was during this time that she discovered her love of performing for children and that, for some reason, children loved her! She credits this to her innate silliness, which worked well for children but not for Shakespeare.

In 1981, Cindy auditioned for the popular TVO series The Polka Dot Door. After a disastrous audition where she dropped "BEAR" on his head, called the guinea pig a rat and forgot all the words to a well-known nursery rhyme, Cindy got the job as one of the series' hosts. This changed her whole life. She became the longest running female host, began touring across Canada and the U.S. with the stage version of the show and together with Jeff produced her own series for YTV, called Time To Read. With the syndication of Polka Dot Door, Cindy has been able to continue performing for children in Canada and around the world. She loves her work and thinks that she has the best job in the world!

When she is not performing, she is happy working with Jeff on their farm in Adjala. They have not moved very far from King and enjoy all the KCSS reunions.
