In 2003 the Case of Distinction was established to honour former King City Secondary School students who distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and make a positive contribution to their local communities, their country or the world. Their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to present and future students of KCSS.
Based on the concept initiated by of former principal Jim McGugan, a Case of Distinction committee was established, by the alumni association in 2002. The mandate was to identify and honour former King City Secondary/Composite School students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and have made a positive contribution to their local communities, their country or the world.
When selected, the inductees are honoured at a special ceremony on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving weekend, when they are inducted into the Case of Distinction. As part of this ceremony, the inductee's picture, biography placed in one of the cases, which are prominently displayed in the school foyer. It is hoped that their accomplishments will serve as an inspiration to present and future students of KCSS.
