Since the initial Commencement Ceremony, KCSS has presented various prizes, awards and bursaries to deserving students. Some of the awards are based upon academic marks, and others presented for special achievements. The awards have originated from families wishing to honour a loved one, others are donated by the school, local businesses, universities and various levels of government. All donors wish to either assist those in financial need or reward a high school career highlighted by hard work, academic achievement and community spirit.
Select the following tabs to see award recipients organized by graduation year. For example, 1978/79 is listed as 1979.

Top Averages for Grades 12 & 13
Awarded to male and female students who have earned the highest and second highest averages in their best seven credits studied at the Gr. 12 level or in their best six OAC’s (Gr. 13) studied. Beginning in the 1977 the awards were presented to the top academic students regardless of gender. As of 1997, since it was possible for students to graduate after Gr. 12, no distinction was made between four year and five-year award winners.
