History of The KCSS Golf Classic
2012 – A small group former teachers and alumni talked about holding tournament to raise some funds for the upkeep of the KCSS Alumni Case of Distinction. A committee was formed and the planning began.
2013 – The inaugural tournament was held at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club. 44 golfers participated and approximately $2000 was raised. The tournament was great fun for all participants in spite of wet & cool weather, and deemed such success plans for 2014 were started.
2014 – After a year of learning the planning committee expanded the scope of the tourney with a goal of raising awareness for the event, and some much needed funds to pay debts. Tourney was held at the wonderful ClubLink King's Riding Course with 84 players and over $5000 was raised. The generosity of the sponsors and prize donations was outstanding. A grand success.
2015 – The committee made some key decisions for the 2015 tourney – 1) move the date to June instead of the fall, 2) play on a Sunday afternoon, 3) partner with a local organization to share in the profits thus making a true charity tournament. The tournament moved to Station Creek Golf Club proving to be a wise move as the tourney was finding its legs. Over $7000 was raised for various charities including the Down Syndrome Association of York Region as our primary recipient.

Was the largest amount raised to date with 0ver $8500 raised for our Charity partners including the Down Syndrome Association of York Region and ongoing current KCSS student bursaries and assistance.
